Ava and I spent the last half of June in beautiful Victoria BC, Canada – my hometown! I hadn’t been back there in the summer time for about 3 years. So we said goodbye to the lovely hot and humid Chicago weather and hello to gorgeous mild Victoria weather with that wonderful sea-breeze smell in the air. Oh how I miss that so much.
We got to spend a lot of quality time with my parents which was so awesome, and we also got to spend time with my Aunt who was visiting from Africa and she was also staying at my parents. Good family times and I think it was great for Ava to really get to know everyone, she is at such a fun age right now. I keep saying that, but it actually just keeps getting more fun. Another neat thing was how Ava formed a close bond with my dad. She would reach out to him and want to go to him, then she’d smile up at him while she was in his arms. It just filled my heart with so much joy watching them together. It makes me sad though that we live so far away and can’t see them as often as we’d like. So when we’re all together we really have to make the time count.
So here is a little recap of our trip. Warning, this is going to be very photo heavy!
