It’s been an entire year but we finally managed to get away together for a couple nights! Last time it was just for 2 nights as well and to the same place – the Wisconsin Dells. It’s super hard for us to go away together with having all the animals to look after but thank goodness for good friends (and ones that know how to look after all the animals!). It was a quick getaway and technically our very first family vacation too. The weather was not great but that was fine with us. We stayed at a resort that basically had everything in it and we didn’t really even need to go outside at all.
This one resort had 4 indoor waterparks and 4 outdoor waterparks. The place was humongous! It also had a couple indoor mini golfs, ropes course, 4 story kids play area, 2 huge arcades, ice cream parlors, restaurants, paint your own pottery place, stores, and more. And those were just the indoor amenities, there were lots of outdoor stuff too like ziplines, golf course, bumper boats…
Since Ava loves bathtime so much we figured she’d love the waterpark, and especially our favorite part: the lazy river. Well….not so much.
They even had these awesome double tubes that had a mesh bottom on one side so it was an actual “seat” for babies so they couldn’t fall through.
She smiled a little bit of the time, but then there was a lot of this:
Which cut our nice relaxing time in the lazy river down dramatically, but luckily only on the first day. She was a little happier to be in the water on day 2. I think my favorite part (even better than the lazy river) was the huge wave pool! It’s the largest indoor wave pool in the country and it was a lot of fun.
So we had a lot of fun on our quick getaway and now Ava and I are off again in a couple days – this time to BC, Canada. We’ll be gone for 15 days! I’m looking forward to some quality time with my family there. I’m not so looking forward to the plane ride(s) with Ava all by myself. She is almost 11 months old and super grabby with everything she sees. How is it that babies have such little arms but they can reach and stretch their arms SOOOOOO far?? I’ll be entertaining her all by myself for the duration of the flight and already I can see it not going well. Wish us luck! 🙂
