Thanks for visiting! I had taken a break from the blogging world as life was just too busy but I am throwing myself back in! Originally when I created this blog way back in 2005, it was just a way to document little things I wanted to remember and post photos of some of my craft projects/ scrapbooking albums. It has since evolved into a place where I can share my favorite recipes, kid stuff, tips, photos and snippets of my (never dull) days 🙂

Originally from beautiful Victoria, BC, Canada, I now live in Chicago, IL with my husband, Steve, and our daughter, Ava. We own an animal outreach company called Animal Quest, where we house 150 animals, mostly rescues. We take our animals to schools, libraries, senior homes, birthday parties, museums and other events where we do wildlife education shows. We love educating people of all ages about the amazing animals of this planet and how to respect and look after them.
Our lives are busy and we never have a day off but we really love what we do. In addition to running Animal Quest, I have been the Animal Trainer for a TV show called The Carbonaro Effect (TruTV) for seasons 3 and 4.
A little more background:
I’m the author of Memory Makers Book: “Outstanding Mini Albums”, 2009. I am a Certified Ranger Educator and I previously taught classes in Vancouver BC, as well as at Scrapbooking Conventions around the USA. Most of my crafts and scrapbooking/mini albums (and tutorials) can be found over at my other two sites: Homeketeers & Outstanding Mini Albums
I took a hiatus from the scrapbooking world to attend the EATM program (Exotic Animal Training and Management) at Moorpark College in California. I started in Fall 2009 so I made the big move from BC to southern California and it was fabulous! Not only did I have the time of my life there, but I learned a ton, I got to work with some amazing animals and people, and I met the love of my life. The day before we graduated in May 2011, Steve and I got married. It was an amazing day (I started the day at the zoo, I hand fed a hyena and visited some other animals I had worked with, then at 5:00pm I was walking down the aisle next to my dad, about to marry my best friend). Our dogs were our ring bearers – Angus was wearing a little tux and Zoey was wearing a strand of pearls to match mine. It was a truly magical day. We moved to Chicago a couple weeks later and have been here ever since.
